Under the guidance of Dr. Neeru Garg (Principal), the Greenies-Eco Club and Red Ribbon Club of SSD Women’s Institute of Technology organized various environmental activities to promote awareness about nature conservation and eco-friendly practices among students and staff members.
As part of the activities, both clubs planted different kind of saplings in the campus to make the environment greener and healthier. Dr. Neeru Garg (Principal) distributed plants to the teachers to encourage tree plantation at homes and nearby surroundings.To take care of birds during the summer season, bird feeders were hung at different places in the campus so that birds could easily get food and water. In another initiative, the college garden was covered with a green shade sheet to protect plants from excessive heat and to maintain greenery in the campus.
The activities were conducted enthusiastically under the guidance of the Eco Club coordinators- Dr. Monika Bansal (Nodal Officer). Adv Sanjay Goyal (President), Mr. Ashutosh Chander (Secretary) and Dr. Neeru Garg (Principal) appreciated their efforts for this nobal initiative.

“ यादें Reloaded ” a vibrant and heartfelt farewell party was organised on 30th April at SSD Women’s Institute of Technology, Bathinda . Junior batches bid a grand adieu to the final year students of management and computer science department.
The party began with a floral welcome of Mrs. Kiran Goyal, Mrs.Shaheena Chander and Dr. Neeru Garg (Principal,SSDWIT ). As our usual practice, the auspicious lamp lighting ceremony was performed followed by Aashirvaad ceremony to bless the students of outgoing classes.
Students enthralled the audience with energetic dance performance,ramp walk and cultural showcases that captured the spirit of their journey at SSDWIT. On the basis of different rounds of Ramp walk many title were given . Ms. Muskan Verma won the title of Miss Farewell, Ms.Deepali was 1st Runner Up, Ms. Kashish was 2nd Runner Up, Ms. Harman was Miss Fashionista and Ms.Kajal was Miss Adorable Aura.
Dr. Neeru Garg inspired the outgoing students by her words of wisdom and urged them to carry the values of the institute into their professional lives. She also thanked the distinguished guests for their presence.
Senior students presented compliments to their teachers to express gratitude for their dedication and guidance This day was a Fiesta devoted to the years spent together with friends and teachers to reminisce about the joyous moments.

Under the guidance of Dr. Neeru Garg (Principal), the Greenies Eco Club of SSD Women’s Institute of Technology, Bathinda, celebrated World Earth Day with great enthusiasm and environmental consciousness on April 22, 2026. The event aimed to promote awareness about environmental protection and sustainable living among students.
An insightful awareness session was conducted by Ms. Samridhi, (Assistant Professor) . She highlighted the urgent need to adopt eco-friendly practices in daily life and encouraged students to become responsible citizens committed to safeguarding the environment.
To mark the occasion, various activities such as poster making and slogan writing competitions were also organized. Students actively participated and presented creative ideas and powerful messages focusing on issues like save water, pollution control, no use of plastic etc. The competitions were judged by Dr. Neetu Goyal, (Head, Department of Management) , and Ms. Manisha Bhatnagar, (Head, Department of Computer Science) .
Adv Sanjay Goyal (President), Mr. Ashutosh Chander (Secretary) and Dr. Neeru Garg (Principal) appreciated the coordinators of the event – Dr. Monika Bansal (Nodal Officer) and all the participants.

 

S. S. D Group of Girls’ Colleges held a convocation on 18th April 2026. Dr. Jagdeep Singh ( Hon’ble Vice – Chancellor, Punjabi University, Patiala) graced this occasion with his presence as a Chief Guest and presided over the function. The programme commenced with the lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest, the Guest of Honour Dr. Vijay Sharma (Registrar, Central University of Punjab), Sh. Abhey Singla ( Sabha, President), Adv. Sanjay Goyal ( President , SSD group of Girls’ Colleges), Sh. Vikas Garg (Gen. Secretary, SSDGC) and Dr. Neeru Garg ( Principal , SSDWIT & SSDGC). College President introduced the Chief Guest. Dr. Neeru Garg extended a warm welcome to the distinguished guests. She also highlighted the achievements of college through her annual report . The convocation was declared opened by Dr. Neeru Garg. 295 Students of the three colleges (session 2023 and 2024) received degrees in this convocation including 4 Gold medals (academic excellence). The Chief Guest delivered a convocation address. All congratulated and appreciated the students for their whole hearted hard work and dedication. A formal Vote of Thanks was extended by Dr. Bimla Sahu (Off.Principal, SSDGCE). Convocation concluded with recitation of the National Anthem.

SSD Women’s Institute of Technology ,Bathinda, successfully organized an educational movement-cum- recreational trip to Manali & Kasol for College Students from 28th to 2nd April’2026. Designation D The trip was conducted under the able guidance of Principal Dr. Neeru Garg. A group of 42 students, accompanied by 5 faculty members Ms. Manisha Bhatnagar (HOD Comp. Sci. dept.), Dr. Neetu Goyal(HOD Mgt. dept.),Dr. kirti Singh, Ms. Anjali Garg and Ms. Namita Garg participated in the trip. Students learned about the culture, traditions and natural beauty of the region.
The faculty ensured smooth coordination and enthusiastic involvement of students throughout the journey.
During the First day of Trip ,students explored the scenic beauty of Manali, known for its breathtaking landscapes and peaceful environment.
On Second day , A highlight of the trip was the visit to Atal Tunnel, Solang Valley and Sissu valley, where students experienced the mesmerizing charm of snow-covered mountains, Biggest Zip Lining of Manali ,making it a refreshing and memorable experience.The group also visited to the Hadimba Devi Temple, where students sought the divine blessings of Maa Hadimba, adding a spiritual dimension to the journey.
In addition, On Third Day of our Journey the students experienced River Rafting and explored Kasol Kovid Camping Stay alongside the banks of Parvati River .
On Fourth day Students visited Manikaran Sahib, famous for its ancient Shiv temple and Gurudwara and natural hot water springs. The visit also included a short trek,providing students with an opportunity to experience both adventure and cultural heritage.
As part of the itinerary, students also visited popular attractions such as Mall Road and Manali Club .
The visit to the vibrant local markets of Kasol turned out to be especially delightful, as the students indulged in enthusiastic shopping, woollens, and local handicrafts, making the experience even more memorable. SSDWIT extends its sincere gratitude to the Roots & Rides Trip planners for their dedicated planning and support in making the trip a great success. The College Management and the Principal appreciated the efforts of the entire team for the successful execution of the trip. The journey concluded on a joyful note, leaving behind cherished memories, enriching experiences, and a spirit of togetherness among all students.

SSD Group of Girls’ Colleges, Bathinda organized 44TH Inter-college Annual Athletic Meet on 21ST February ,2026 in college premises in which SSD Women’s Institute of Technology participated enthusiastically.
The chief Guest of the event was Ms. Avneet Kaur Sidhu (A.I.G. Counter Intelligence, Punjab) and the Guest of Honour was Adv. Abhey Singla (President, S.S.D. Sabha).S.Barinder Singh(District Social Justice and Empowerment officer Bathinda) and Ms. Mamta Sethi(DEO(Secondry) ,Bathinda) were Special Guests.Sh. Sanjay Goyal (President, SSDGGC) welcomed the guests. The events started with March-Past by the athletes and the Chief Guest took the salute from them. The Chief-guest declared the Sports Meet open and hoisted the flag. Praveen Kaur (B.A II)successfully conducted the Torch Lightning Ceremony followed by the Oath taking Ceremony.After the National Anthem, there were dance performances by students. Total 10 sports events took place in which the students performed in various sports events with full enthusiasm and sportsmanship. The Winners of the events were honored with medals in the following events:-
100 Meters Race , 200 Meters Race, Relay Race,Shot Put, Long Jump, ,400 Meters Race, Ball Balance, Obstacle Race, Balloon Race, Makri Race
Ms. Husanpreet Kaur was entitled as the Best Athlete.
The Chief Guest honoured the Band Students from S.S.D Public School. He addressed the spectators by saying that such types of Sports Meet are necessary for the institutions to arouse the team spirit in students. He also appreciated the continuous efforts of the S.S.D institutions for uplifting the society.The Vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Neeru Garg (Principal, SSDGC and SSDWIT). Sh. K.K. Aggarwal (Vice-President SSD Sabha), Sh. Vikas Garg (Gen. Sec., SSDGC), Sh. Sudarshan Goyal (Sec., SSDGCE), Sh. Ashutosh Chander (Sec., SSDWIT) and other executive members witnessed the entire festival. Dr. Bimla Sahu (Principal, SSDGCE) was also present.The stage was conducted by Dr. Ekta Garg (Associate.prof. CS). After the prize distribution ceremony, the sports meet was declared closed.Adv. Sanjay Goyal and Sh. Vikas Garg congratulated Dr. Neeru Garg, and sports incharges: Ms. Anjali Garg(Computer Dept.) Ms. Navita Singla (Management Dept.) and all the faculty members.
