Under the guidance of Dr. Neeru Garg (Principal), the Technical Skill Committee conducted four days Skill Development workshop on “Python Programming Language” during the months of September to November 2022 for the students of MCA. The resource person Mr. Sanjay Bhatnagar (HOD, Computational Science MRSPTU,Bathinda) started the workshop with the basics of the Python language, introduction of variables, flow control structures, the Django framework etc. In every session, students were able to acquire knowledge of advanced Python programming. During the workshop, all students were engaged in grasping more than what they could with the utmost concentration and dedication. The workshop turned out to be immensely beneficial to the students in catching up with global standards. In the concluding day of the workshop, students developed websites with database support. Dr. Neeru Garg (Principal) thanked the resource person for giving his precious time for this workshop and presented beautiful plant as a token of gratitude. The objective of this workshop was to help the students get exposed to the latest technology Python programming and its processes which helped them to acquire better analytical as well as practical approaches.

S.S.D. Women’s Institute of Technology , Bathinda (SSDWIT) organized a big bash fresher party ‘परिचय-22’ to welcome its new students. It is the day when seniors and juniors finally bond and unite to celebrate being part of the college. The purpose of this event was that every “fresher” of SSDWIT should feel like an integral part of the Institute and ready to take challenges of the year ahead. The event was started with lamp lighting by esteemed management members & other dignitaries and followed by cake cutting ceremony.
Dr. Neeru Garg (Principal, SSDWIT) welcomed the new comers and emphasised that there is no substitute for hard work and it is the only key to success, Students need to put their best shot for enhancing their knowledge and capabilities and the aim of the institute is to impart the qualitative education along with ehtics, in which we hope that we have proved successfully.
The event was lit with dazzling performances from the seniors and juniors that were enjoyed by the audiences including the guests & teachers. Talent rounds to the ramp walk left the entire crowd be nothing less than mesmerized. Dr. Usha Sharma (HOD Pbi.Dept., SSDGC), Dr. savita Bhatia (HOD, History Dept., SSDGC) judged the different modelling rounds. At the end of the event the most awaited title for the event was bagged by Bhavya as Ms. FRESHERS, Ms. Rumpa Samanta as 1st RUNNER UP, Richa and Arundeep as 2nd RUNNER UP.

The resource person of the talk was Mr.Nishant Garg (Social Engineer and Scientist) and keynote speaker was Tariq Ahmad Masoodi(Consultant Strategic Communication and Web Content Editor). Dr.Neeru Garg (Principal), Sh.Vikas Garg ( Secretary)and Sh.Satish Arora (Secretary SSDGC) welcomed the guests with beautiful plants. Keynote speaker started the session with an ice breaking activity. Mr. Nishant Garg emphasised that Happiness lies within ourself. We know it when we feel it. He emphasized the importance of yoga and meditation in contemporary life. Under the able guidance of Principal Dr. Neeru Garg, an awareness programme was organized on 19-10-2022 by the Electoral Literacy Club of SSD Women’s Institute of Technology, Bathinda for the students of MCA, MBA. The awareness programme was aimed at providing the students with the necessary information about how to link their Aadhaar cards with voter ID using the Voter Helpline app. The main goal of linking Aadhaar cards with voter ID cards was to determine if the same person had registered in more than one constituency or in the same constituency more than once.

Group of Girls’ Colleges) and Dr. Neeru Garg (Principal, SSD Girls’ College & SSDWIT). Ms. Innayat (SDM, Bathinda) graced the occasion as chief guest. Adv Sanjay Goyal (President, SSDGGC) , Sh. Chander Shekhar Mittal ( Gen . Secretary ,SSDGC) Sh. Parmod Maheswari (Vice – President, SSDGC) , Sh. Vikas Garg (Secratary SSDWIT), Sh. Various off stage events Seviyan watna, Nala bunna, Innu bnana, Mehandi, Hair style, Charkha katna , pidhi bunna and Mitti de khidone bnana were organised. In On-stage competitions, Ms Teej was conducted. students participated enthusiastically in group dance performance. Different stalls of kheer malpua, kulfi, dahi bhalla, tikki, dosa, juice, bangles, jewellery and selfie station were set up in the college premises. Tonga and Camel ride was center of attraction . Everyone enjoyed the rides. Students participated enthusiastically in punjabi attire in Miss Teej competition

IT’S TIME TO SAY GOODBYE!!
“CIAO BASH” a farewell party was organised by SSD Women’s Institute of Technology, Bathinda on 13th June,2022. This party was given by the students of MCA and MBA in honour of outgoing students. The party started with the lamp lightening ceremony followed by the traditional Aashirwad Ceremony and Cake Cutting Ceremony. Principal, Dr Neeru Garg welcomed all the guests, Sh. Sanjay Goyal(President), Sh. Chander Shekhar Mittal(Gen. Sec., SSDGC), Sh. Vikas Garg(Secretary) and Dr.Chanchal Bala ( Officiating Principal, SSDGCE).
Heart throbbing dances , Fun games and cultural performance of students made the atmosphere extremely energetic. Students decorated the venue in a very creative way. Outgoing students did modeling with great enthusiasm and on the basis of different rounds they were given various titles. Ms. Muskaan Rajput Won the title of Miss. Farewell, Ms. Richa Mishra was 1st Runner up, Ms.Vimsh Gupta 2nd Runner Up. Judgement of Modelling was given by Mrs. Kiran Goyal, Mrs Sushma Garg and Mrs Vanita Mittal.
Principal Dr. Neeru Garg along with jury members crowned the winners and motivated them to empower themselves for their future endeavours. She also motivated the students to lead life of righteousness and hard work and practice honesty in all dealing of life.
The whole event was co-ordinated by Ms. Neetu Goyal (HOD, Mgt. Dept.), Ms. Manisha Bhatnagar ( HOD, Comp. Sci.) , all the faculty members and students. Dr. Neeru Garg thanked all the dignitaries for sparing their precious time and gracing the occasion and wished all the outgoing students for their bright future.
As per the guidelines of Government of India, NSS and RRC unit of SSD Women’s Institute of Technology, Bathinda observed “Cyber Awareness Diwas” on first Wednesday of month May i.e. on 4th May 2022. The aim of observing this day was to increase cyber hygiene for the prevention of cybercrimes among the students by inculcating habits of taking basic care of ICT devices in their daily life. On this day, seminars on various topics related to cyber crime and security awareness were conducted by NSS volunteers under the guidance of Associate Prof (Dr) Monika Bansal (Programme Officer, NSS unit) . NSS volunteer, Ms. Parneet Kaur presented her views on topic “Cyber Security issues” and Ms. Neetu gave her presentation on topic “E-Payment Techniques” and acknowledged all the students about the use of e-payment using debit and credit cards in their daily life and she also explained about the safety measures taken during its use. Almost 50 students participated in this seminar and felt very enthusiastic.

An Inter college youth festival was organised by Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle Faridkot – Sri Muktsar Sahib – Bathinda Zone on 6 April 2022 at Adesh University. 11 students participated enthusiastically in various competitions like poster making, slogan writing, self composed poem recitation, rangoli and quiz. This fest was dedicated to 50 years of Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle .Adv Sanjay Goyal (President), Sh. Annual Prize Distribution function held at SSD Women’s Institute of Technology, Bathinda
SSD Women Institute of Technology celebrated its annual prize distribution function on 26th March, 2022 amidst great zest, vibrancy and elation. S. Jagroop Singh Gill, MLA Bathinda (Urban) was the Hon’ble Chief Guest on the occasion. Among other dignitaries present were CA Parmod Mittal(President SSD Sabha), Adv. Rajiv Gupta (Patron, SSDGGC), Adv. Sanjay Goyal (President SSDGGC), Office bearers of SSD Sabha, Executive Committee of SSDGGC, Principals of three colleges, Media, parents and students.
The programme commenced with floral welcome of chief guest followed by ceremonial lamp lightening by the Hon’ble chief guest. Ganesh Vandana was performed by the students. After that Adv. Sanjay Goyal (President SSDGGC) formally welcomed the chief guest as well as other dignitaries. Dr. Neeru Garg (Principal, SSDWIT) presented the college annual report of the year. The programme was based on the theme “PANCHMAHABHUTA”. Group dance, Choreography, Fusion Dance and Tandav enthralled the whole audience. The Fifth issue of E-newsletter ‘SSDWIT talkBACK 2022’ was released by chief guest and other dignitaries. This was followed by prize distribution ceremony. The Chief Guest gave away medals to university merit holders and prizes to the academically meritorious students of the college. It was a moment of pride and honour for all the winners and achievers of the college. He appreciated the students, teachers and management for such a message oriented programme. He stated that he felt highly honoured and elated to have visited SSD Women’s Institute of Technology. He urged parents to encourage and praise their children for their good work and achievements as appreciation gives them indomitable strength to face the world. The vote of thanks was proposed by Ms. Neetu Goyal (HOD, Management Department). The programme culminated with the National Anthem.

S. S. D. Women’s Institute of Technology, Bathinda organized its 3rd annual Alumni meet through online mode on 12th March 2022. Over 100 Alumni of different batches from India and abroad attended the event to revive college years and reconnect with their Alma mater. The function was inaugurated by lamp lighting ceremony and followed by Ganesha Vandana.

The Alumni introduced themselves with great pride through this online mode. They shared the precious moments of their college life and conferred their gratitude to the teachers for their unconditional support. Every one participated enthusiastically. Present students of the institute gave lovely performances to pay regard and respect to their alumni. Everyone enjoyed punjabi group dance performance. In addition to this, WIT SAFARNAMA was the main attraction highlighting all the college achievements since 1998. The Alumni residing abroad also shared their views. College faculty members who are also alumni shared their personal experiences at campus life of SSDWIT. The meet ended with a vote of thanks and blessings given by Sh.Vikas Garg (Secretary SSDWIT).
