It’s really a proud moment for the SSD family that Dr. Neeru Garg (Principal) has been felicitated with Deen Dayal Vachaspati Award for being one of the best Principal in S.S.D. Colleges across the country. This award was given by Hon’ble Governor of Uttarakhand His Excellency Lt. General Sh. Gurmeet Singh on the Occasion of Sanatan Dharam Shatabdi Maha Samellan held at Sapt Rishi Ashram, Haridwar. She was selected for this award by the screening committee constituted by Shri Sanatan Dharam Education Board (Regd.) Chandigarh for her outstanding contributions towards the college. Due to her hard work and dedication college is continuously touching the sky with glory. President of the College Adv. Sanjay Goyal along with some faculty members were also present at this great event. The managing committee and staff members congratulated her for this remarkable achievement.
SSD Group of Girls’ Colleges in association with Sanatan Daharam Sabha Bathinda, organised Sanatan Dharam Triveni Sammelan in coordination with Pratinidhi Sabha . Ist day of Sammelan entitled as ‘Yamuna Dhara’, an International Bhajan Singer, Dr. Sudhir Sharma presented Krishna and Shiv Hari Bhajans. 2nd part of the day was named as ‘Ganga Dhara’ in which the founder of GIEO Gita and Gita Research Centre, Kurukshetra ,Mahamandleshwar Swami Gyananand Ji Maharaj addressed the audience. His preachings about ‘The Philosophy of Gita’ filled the audience’s inner self with his divine power. He gave blessings to President, Secretary , Principal, Staff and students of the college.
S. S. D Group of Girls’ Colleges held a convocation on 23 November 2023. Prof. Arvind ( Hon’ble Vice – Chancellor, Punjabi University, Patiala) graced this occasion with his presence and presided over the function. The programme commenced with the lighting of the lamp. Chief guest, Sh. Abhey Singla ( Sabha, President), Sh. Sanjay Goyal ( President , SSD group of Girls’ Colleges), Sh. Vikas Garg (Gen. Secretary, SSDGC) and Dr. Neeru Garg ( Principal , SSDWIT& SSDGC) performed a lamp lighting ceremony. College President introduced the Chief Guest. Dr. Neeru Garg (Principal ) extended a warm welcome to the distinguished guests. She also highlighted the achievements of college through her annual report . The convocation was declared opened by Dr. Neeru Garg. 46 Students of SSDWIT (session 2022) received degrees in this convocation. 2 medals were also conferred to the students for their academic excellence. The Chief Guest delivered a convocation address. All congratulated and appreciated the students for their whole hearted hard work and bringing laurels to the institution. Prof. Arvind shared invaluable insights in his address. A formal Vote of Thanks was extended by Ms. Maninder Kaur ( Off.Principal ,SSDGCE). She thanked Chief guest, other distinguished guests, management members, supporting faculty (teaching & non – teaching) ,print media, students & their parents and others concerned to make the event a big success. Convocation concluded with recitation of the National Anthem.
Under the guidance of Dr. Neeru Garg(Principal) SSD group of girls’ colleges organised Dandiya Dance on the occassion of navratri in college premises on 21 October 2023 to seek the blessings of Goddess Durga. All the Students participated enthusiastically in Dandiya. Attractive prizes were also distributed to winning participants.

Under the able guidance of Dr Neeru Garg (Principal, S.S.D. Women’s Institute of Technology, Bathinda), NSS and RRC unit organised various activities under the “Swachata Hi Seva” Campaign on the birth anniversary of Gandhi Ji on 2nd Oct 2023 . The focus of the campaign was to encourage the students to keep clean campus and all public places. The campaign was started with the cleanliness drive in the working premises of college. Volunteers cleaned campus gardens. Over 50 volunteers and all faculty members joined this campaign. Volunteers participated in various activities on the theme “Garbage free India” such as Seminar, Slogan Writing, Poster making, Debate and Essay writing etc. All the volunteers participated in this campaign with very enthusiasm.
This event was coordinated under the supervision of Dr. Monika Bansal (NSS Programme Officer), Dr. Kirti Singh, and Ms. Isha Sareen (Asst. Prof.) .

S.S.D. Women’s Institute of Technology, Bathinda organised a grand freshers’ party (आरंभ-2023) on 16 Sept to welcome the new batches of students at its campus.
The event started with lamp lighting by esteemed management members along with other dignitaries and then followed by cake cutting ceremony. The ceremony was a memorable and significant event, signifying the beginning of a promising educational journey.
Dr. Neeru Garg(Principal, SSDWIT) addressed and welcomed the students. In her address she told the students that the only key to success is hard work. She also advised the students not to misuse the mobile and utilize their time in doing creative work.
It was a colorful and lively occasion. Students were dressed in their best attire. The students from different classes showcased their talent by singing and dance performances. Students full of vitality made the celebration more soulful.
The competition for Miss Fresher was conducted in a three rounds in which the juniors participated with verve. Freshers gave their outstanding performance in ramp walk, dance and question answer round. Ms.Rajveer (MBA I ) selected as Ms. FRESHER, Ms. Vishali (BBA l) as 1st RUNNER UP, Ms. Harman (BCA I)as 2nd RUNNER UP, Ms. Prachi (MBA I) as Best Smile and Ms. Mehak (BCA I) as Best Hairstyle.
Dr. Neeru Garg (Principal, SSDWIT) along with jury members crowned and congratulated the winners. Party was honoured with gracious presence of Sh. Sanjay Goyal (President, SSDGGC), Sh. Vikas Garg (Secretary, SSDWIT) and Dr. Neeru Garg (Principal). The whole event was successfully co-ordinated by all the faculty members and students.

Advocate Sanjay Goyal (President, SSDGGC)gave a brief introduction of the chief guest and welcomed her. Sh. Satish Arora ( Gen. Secretary, SSDGC), Sh. Vikas Garg (Secretary SSDWIT) & Sh. Durgesh Jindal (Secretary, SSDGCE) also welcomed and felicitated the guests with Teej Sindhara .
Various off stage events Seviyan Watna, Mehandi, Hair Style and Charkha Katna were organised. In On-stage competitions, students participated enthusiastically in Ms Teej, Lambi Hek Geet and Group Dance .

NSS and RRC units of SSD Women’s Institute of Technology organised various activities between 9th August 2023 to 14th August 2023 to mark the celebrations of Independence Day. This celebration was done in the sight of the program “Meri Mati Mera Desh” launched by honorable Prime Minister of India. It was started with the “Panch Pran” pledge followed by various competitions like poster making, slogan writing, salad decoration and tattoo making based on the theme independence. At the end of the program, Principal Dr. Neeru Garg distributed the prizes and certificates to all the winners in these competitions.This program also included the plantation of 75 plant saplings in college premises and in the NSS unit’s adopted village. All the volunteers participated very enthusiastically in all the activities and also clicked the selfies by holding Tricolor in their hands during the celebration of Independence Day. 15th August was celebrated by hoisting the flag in college premises by all management members, principal, all faculty members and students.
This program was coordinated under the supervision of Dr. Kirti Singh, Dr. Monika Bansal (NSS Programme Officer) and Ms. Mannu Kartiki (Asst. Prof.).
Under the guidance of Dr. Neeru Garg (Principal), Student Induction Programme was organised by SSDWIT Bathinda, for fresher students . The induction programme consisted of activities like campus orientation, expert lectures, ice breaking session, and a motivational lecture .
SIP was started with the orientation program for fresher students. Dr. Neeru Garg welcomed all the students and introduced all the faculty members. The objective of this programme was to familiarise the students to new environment and get them accustomed to the culture of the college.
On the 2nd day of SIP, an Ice-breaking session was organised to introduce new students to each other. The event aimed to create a comfortable and inclusive atmosphere, encouraging students to connect, communicate with each other. Students perform various activities such as singing, poetry, shares their memorable moments. All this made the session interactive and allowed students to learn more about each other.
On the 3rd day, a guest lecture on personal hygiene was organised to create awareness regarding hygiene practices and healthy lifestyle. Resource person was Ms. Geetanjali sharma who shared various aspects of personal hygiene.
On the 4th day , was started with a session by Ms. Ashu . This session was very useful for the students as she discussed the importance of Yoga ,Meditation to release stress. Students learned how to instill positive vibes
and value in their lives.
On day 5th, Institute had the privilege of hosting a thought-provoking lecture by representatives of the Brahma Kumaris organization Sister Khushboo and Sister Shivani. The lecture was aimed to inspire students to embrace positivity, mindfulness, and inner peace in their lives. The renowned speakers from Brahma Kumaris shared profound insights into the philosophy of positive thinking and its transformative effects on one’s mindset. They emphasized the importance of cultivating a positive attitude, managing stress, and fostering harmonious relationships. The students actively engaged in the session, demonstrating their eagerness to learn and embrace meditation as a valuable life skill.
Principal Dr. Neeru Garg expressed her gratitude to the Brahma Kumaris organization for their valuable contribution She highlighted that the lecture aligns with Institute’s mission to nurture not only academic excellence but also emotional well-being among students.
The session was ended with an interactive queries, where students had the opportunity to seek advice and clarification on various aspects of positive living and got spiritual growth.
The SIP was concluded by feedback session where students share their experiences and give their feedback about the programme.

An Industrial Visit to Ambuja Cement Limited, Bathinda (Pb) was organized by SSD Women’s Institute of Technology on 5th May, 2023. 40 students from Management department and computer science department along with Dr. Kirti Singh and Ms. Silky Bansal visited the industry to understand the manufacturing process of cement. This unit is mainly focusing on production of cement.
Mr. Umesh Verma (HR Head), Mr. Dinesh Sahu (Head Safety), Mr. Rajesh Rathore (Head Security) and Subhandu Dutta (Manager Production) accompanied the students to different units to explain the students about whole process starting from raw material up to end product. The experience of visiting the unit & viewing the processes the expression of satisfaction were visible on the faces of students at the time of leaving the industry.

To make the night colorful and more vibrant students performed “JAAGO” followed by various dance performances. ‘Pro Beats Band’ with main lead singer Mr. Shiv & his group gave an outstanding performance and enthralled the audience. Everyone enjoyed and danced to the beats and tunes. SSD Girls’ College and SSD Women’s Institute of Technology, Bathinda organized an Inter College Competition ‘SSD Carnival 2023’ in college premises on 1st April 2023 (Saturday). This competition was started with full swing and was graced with the arrival of Mrs Neena Mittal, MLA ( Rajpura) as a Chief Guest and Mr Anil Thakur ( Chairman, Punjab State Trade Commission, Excise &Taxation Department )as a Guest of Honor. Adv. Abhey Singla (President, SSD Sabha), Adv. Rajiv Gupta (Patron, SSD Group of Girls’ Colleges), Adv. Sanjay Goyal (President, SSD Group of Girls’ Colleges) welcomed the esteemed Chief Guest. The Chief Guest and the Guest of Honor were accompanied by esteemed Sabha Members. The program was started by lamp lighting ceremony. Adv. Sanjay Goyal (President, SSD Group of Girls’ colleges) introduced the Chief Guest and Guest of Honor to the audience. Dr. Neeru Garg (Principal, SSDGC and SSDWIT) presented a brief summary about SSD Group of Girls’ Colleges and events on board in SSD CARNIVAL. ‘SSD Bulletin’ a newsletter of SSD Girls’ College and a E- newsletter ‘TalkBACK’ of SSDWIT was released by the Chief Guest. SSD Carnival comprised of various On Stage and Off Stage events. Near about 15 colleges of Malwa region participated in this carnival. The events like Corporate Fashion Show, Bollywood Blast, Nach-Baliye, Rock ‘n’ Roll, Stand Up Comedy and Our Great National Leader (A fancy dress show) grabbed the attention of the audience. Audience won attractive prizes in SSD Carnival Bonanza and GyanTambola ( based on gyan and entertainment). Everyone enjoyed a lot various Food stalls, Google stall ,Fun Games stall and an Exhibition. Music on request remained the center of attraction for all. Posing Booth (Selfie Station with Jungle Theme) with many attractive props allured the visitors. Participants showed great interest in various Off-Stage events like Stone Painting, Newspaper Dress Dior, Clay Modelling, Hand Made Jewellery, Tattoo Making, Plastic Bottle Decore, Sketching, Face Painting, Mandala Art, Pot Decoration with Waste Material, Web Designing, Handwriting, Mehndi, Digital Card Making, Nail Art, Paper Presentation and Corporate Roadies.
The Chief Guest gave away prizes and certificates to all the winners. In her address, she praised and motivated them to participate in the cultural and other extra-curricular activities in future too.
Under the able guidance of Dr. Neeru Garg(Principal, SSDWIT) an Intra-Class Group Discussion was organised on 13th March, 2023 in college premises to enhance communication and interpersonal skills of students. Students from both Computer Science and Management Department participated in it enthusiastically. The topics of GD were “Not everyone can be an entrepreneur” and “The impact of social media on our lives”
The Group Leader of GD was Meenakshi(MBA-II), Facilitator was Ms. Paramjeet Kaur(MBA -1) and Initiator were Ms. Manisha(MBA-II) and Ms. Priya (MBA-II).

Sh. Varinder Singh (SDM, Bathinda) was the chief guest and Adv. Abhey Singla (President, SSD Sabha) was the Guest of Honor on this occasion. Adv. Sanjay Goyal (President, SSDGGC) along with Sh. Satish Arora (General Secretary, SSDGC), Sh. Vikas Garg (Secretary, SSDWIT) and Dr. Neeru Garg (Principal, SSDGC & SSDWIT) welcomed the dignitaries with bouquet of flowers. Sh. Rajiv Gupta(Patron, SSDGGC), Sh. Krishan Kumar Bansal (Sr. Vice President, SSDWIT), Sh. Ajay Gupta(Vice President, SSDWIT) were also present at this moment. The celebration began with March Past ceremony. Sh. Sanjay Goyal (President, SSDGGC) delivered the welcome address. The chief guest hoisted the flag and declared the Athletic Meet opened. It was followed by oath taking ceremony and arrival of the torch. All the races and cultural items remained the main attraction of the event.
The chief guest gave away certificates and medals to the winners. The stage was conducted by Dr. Ekta Garg (Associate Professor in Comp. Sci.) on behalf of SSDWIT. The best athlete award was bagged by Ms. Sukhdeep Kaur . The event ended with the recitation of National anthem. The whole event was successfully co-ordinated by all the faculty members.
With reference to Indian Election Commission, 13th National Voter Day was celebrated by the District Administration in the auditorium of Government Rajindra College, Bathinda which was presided over by Additional Deputy Commissioner Dr. Pallavi Choudhry (IAS). Sh. Om Prakash (PCS,SDM Rampura) and Election Tehsildar Mr. Gurcharan Singh were also present there .
On this occasion ELC Nodal officer Dr. Ekta Garg ,Ms. Vibha Bansal were honoured with appreciation certificate by ADC for their special contribution in sweep activities which were conducted in the college campus SSDWIT under the guidance of Dr. Neeru Garg (Principal, SSDWIT) during the year 2022.
